This portfolio is a way for me to showcase the things I have learned in preparation for my future professional career. My goal is for people to understand who I am as a person and as a teacher. But more than anything, I sincerely hope that this portfolio will exemplify my love for teaching.
My Story
Ever since I was young, I loved English. It was a way that I could express myself with another language. As a child, you could often find me singing and writing my thoughts on any piece of paper I could find in English. When I sing, I was reading the lyrics and trying to understand them. As I grew up, I became interested in cultivating and shaping my skills in reading, writing, listening, speaking English.
That is largely why I focused my education on taking English Language Teaching courses at the University of Aydın Adnan Menderes to be able to improve my English in an academic way and be able to teach what I have learned. I chose ELT (English Language Teaching) because I believed that this program would capture my creativity and teach me how to use it effectively in a professional setting. The program focuses on producing quality, professional work. During my time in college and at internships, I've have produced many useful teaching skills and had great time with my students that are shown in this portfolio.
The most impactful thing I've learned and the reason I truly love teaching is realizing how powerful my communication with others can be. Communication can create or destroy. It has the power to change things. I can make a difference with my communication with others. And I fully intend to do that.
